Comrade Surveyor Chukwudi

Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Anambra State chapter, Comrade Surveyor Obi Emeka Chukwudi, has assured youths of a free, fair and transparent election during the council’s 2026 Unity Congress scheduled for June 26.
Speaking at a press conference in Awka on Wednesday, Obi said measures had been put in place to ensure credibility, including live streaming of the election on the council’s Facebook platform.
He urged aspirants to engage stakeholders and noted that only recognized youth organizations in the state would participate in the voting process. Eligible groups include the 21 local government NYCN chapters, faith-based youth bodies and approved uniformed organizations.
Obi directed participating organizations to submit fresh delegates’ lists on June 24 and 25 ahead of the congress at La Luna Hotels, Awka.
He said the arrangements were aimed at ensuring a transparent process and strengthening unity within the council.
The outgoing chairman also commended Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo for youth empowerment initiatives, including the One Youth Two Skills programme, and appreciated the support of Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Patrick Aghamba, as well as former NYCN leaders.
The Unity Congress is expected to produce a new leadership for the Anambra NYCN chapter.
