A support group for former presidential candidate Peter Obi has launched a nationwide mobilisation campaign aimed at boosting voter participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group, Peter Obi Volunteers, unveiled in Abuja, said it is establishing structures across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas to strengthen grassroots engagement and encourage voter registration.
National Chairman, Ogbuefi Okoye, said the organisation plans to register up to 10 million voters through its “10+ Project,” which requires each volunteer to facilitate the registration of at least 10 eligible voters.
He said the initiative would also support election monitoring and voter protection efforts to promote transparency and confidence in the electoral process.
Okoye described Obi as a credible leader whose integrity has continued to inspire supporters across the country.
