Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has encouraged eligible residents to become regular blood donors, describing blood donation as a simple but powerful act that saves lives.
In a message marking World Blood Donor Day, Soludo said donated blood provides critical support for accident victims, mothers facing childbirth complications, patients undergoing surgery, and people battling serious illnesses.
She noted that a safe and adequate blood supply depends on healthy individuals donating voluntarily and regularly, adding that blood donors play a vital role in strengthening the healthcare system.
The governor’s wife praised voluntary donors for their selflessness and urged Ndi Anambra to embrace a culture of compassion and shared responsibility.
According to her, a single blood donation can save multiple lives, making blood donors true heroes in their communities.
