Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and merit-based appointments, stressing that he serves all residents regardless of religious or traditional affiliations.
Speaking at the Anglican Diocesan Synod in Ezira, Orumba South Local Government Area, Soludo said competence remains the key criterion for appointments in his government.
“I am the Governor of all denominations, Christians, Muslims, and traditionalists. Everyone has the freedom to worship in Anambra,” he said.
The governor urged citizens to embrace unity and focus on their shared humanity, warning against divisions in society.
He also encouraged religious institutions to invest more in education and healthcare, commending the church for establishing a nursing school in Isulo.
Soludo further advised religious leaders to consider the economic realities of their members when embarking on development projects.
Earlier, Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Rt. Rev. Samuel Ezeofor, praised the governor’s developmental strides and assured him of the church’s continued prayers and support.
