Federal Polytechnic Oko trains lecturers on students’ results digitization

By Solomon Mokwugo

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, has flagged off a two-day training workshop for teaching staff on digitization of students’ results.

Speaking during the event at the institution’s ICT Academy building, Awuzie said the initiative was aimed at improving service delivery and aligning the polytechnic with global best practices in academic records management.

She explained that digitization involves the use of computer-based systems for recording, processing, storing and managing students’ results electronically instead of relying on manual methods.

According to her, the traditional system is plagued by delays in results processing, calculation errors, poor data storage and difficulties in transcript handling, stressing that digitization would improve speed, accuracy, transparency and accessibility.

Director of ICT, Dr. Amobi Chiamogu, commended the Rector for her commitment to building a digitally-driven institution and urged participants to take the training seriously.

He also praised the management for regaining JAMB UTME CBT Centre accreditation and successfully hosting UTME examinations.
