Newly sworn-in Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Law Mefor, has urged staff of the ministry to redouble efforts to meet the expectations of government and residents of the state.
Mefor gave the charge while officially resuming duties after taking the oath of office administered by Chukwuma Soludo.
He said the ministry must communicate government activities faster, clearer and more truthfully to keep the people properly informed.
The Commissioner was received by the Permanent Secretary, Obiageli Uchebo, and staff of the ministry who welcomed him with songs and goodwill messages.
Mefor thanked the staff for the warm reception and commended them for sustaining innovations in the ministry.
Uchebo described Mefor’s reappointment as recognition of his achievements in strategic communication and information management, assuring him of the staff’s support.
The Commissioner is expected to meet with ministry staff on May 19 to outline Governor Soludo’s expectations and discuss the ministry’s expanded mandate on value reformation.
