By Chukwujekwu Ilozue, Awka

A House of Representatives aspirant for the Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha (DNA) Federal Constituency, Chief Tochukwu George Ibekie, has promised to attract diaspora investments and development projects to the constituency if elected in 2027.

Ibekie, who holds the title of Ifejimalumba Anaocha, made the pledge while addressing stakeholders and residents of Nawgu in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.

He said his years of living in the United States and his strong relationship with Nigerians in the diaspora would help him mobilize investments into the constituency.

According to him, many wealthy indigenes abroad are interested in investing at home but are discouraged by fear of fraud, lack of trust and poor accountability.

He explained that with credible leadership and proper coordination, diaspora funds could be directed into factories, businesses and community projects capable of creating employment opportunities for youths.

Ibekie stressed that representation in the National Assembly should go beyond making speeches in Abuja, noting that lawmakers must also attract development and economic opportunities to their constituencies.

The aspirant further promised to pursue ecological funds to address erosion and other environmental challenges affecting communities within the federal constituency.

He urged the people to support his aspiration, assuring them that he would use his international exposure and contacts to attract meaningful development to the area.

Earlier, the President-General of Nawgu Development Union and former Mayor of Dunukofia Local Government Area, Hon. Augustine Onyemobi, commended Ibekie’s vision and described him as a capable leader with passion for community development.

Other stakeholders at the gathering also expressed confidence in his ambition and pledged their support.
