Members of Chukwudubem Age Grade in Obosi, Idemili North LGA of Anambra State have protested alleged injustice and disregard for democratic principles by the Council of Age Grades President, Onyeka Molokwu.
The group accused Molokwu of imposing a six-man caretaker committee instead of respecting the outcome of a general election held on April 26, 2026, at Obosi Town Hall.
Speaking at the palace of Igwe Chudubem Iweka (Eze Iweka II), Secretary of the electoral committee, Engr. Obi Eneanya, said the election, observed by key stakeholders, produced Hon. Ekene Adieme as President alongside other executives.
The protesters called on the monarch to suspend Molokwu and Secretary of the council, Obidi Maduegbuna, alleging their actions were against the interest of members and the Obosi community.
They also claimed that several age grades had become inactive under Molokwu’s leadership due to poor administration.
