Rev Augustine Ehiemere

The South-East National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Rev. Augustine Ehiemere, has called for transparent and sustainable funding mechanisms to strengthen the party and support its expansion.

Speaking at the APGA South-East Zonal Stakeholders’ Meeting in Awka, Ehiemere described the South-East as the party’s stronghold and stressed the need to consolidate its base while pursuing national relevance.

He said recent grassroots engagements across the region helped revive morale among members and reconnect them with the party’s core values. However, he noted that limited financial resources remain a major challenge.

Ehiemere urged elected officials, aspirants, and stakeholders to contribute financially and materially, emphasizing that political success depends on strong institutional support.

He also called on Charles Soludo to lead efforts toward financial and structural reforms within the party.

In response, Soludo supported the call for a sustainable funding model, urging members to take responsibility through regular dues and collective contributions.

He added that a committee would be set up to develop a transparent fundraising framework.
