The Chairman Campaign Council, Anambra South All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the senatorial by-election that produced Chief Emma Nwachukwu and for re-election of Governor Charles Soludo, High Chief Akai Egwuonwu, has issued a rallying call to party members for the Governor’s re-election.
He told party members in the zone to close ranks and throw their full weight behind Governor Charles Soludo’s re-election bid in the November 8 governorship poll.
Chief Egwuonwu, who spoke after a strategic meeting with aggrieved stakeholders from the last senatorial by-election, declared that the time for division was over and insisted that unity of purpose and massive mobilisation were the only guarantees for APGA’s victory.
He noted that no stone would be left unturned to ensure that Governor Soludo secures a fresh mandate to continue his developmental strides.
The APGA chieftain extended his appeal beyond party faithful to members of the opposition, saying that the re-election of Governor Soludo remains the surest path for Anambra’s progress.
According to him, the Governor’s numerous projects across infrastructure, education, health, and security need consolidation and completion, which only a second term in office can guarantee.
Egwuonwu maintained that history would judge the electorate harshly if they allowed partisanship or internal rancour to derail the gains already achieved under Soludo, adding that the November election was more about the future of Anambra State than about party politics.
One of the distinguished personalities at the event was the Executive Chairman of Nnewi South Local Government Area, Hon Sir Vangeorge Ezeogidi (IJELE UTUH), who re-echoed the need to rally strong support to ensure Governor Soludo’s electoral success.
He said the Governor’s achievements in the first tenure under completion were clear testimonies to renew his mandate
