No fewer than 300 people received free medical treatment during the 24th edition of the Fada Pita Charity Tennis Tournament (FPCT) in Onitsha, Anambra State.
The outreach, held before the tournament’s grand finale, provided free treatment for ailments including malaria, high and low blood pressure, and eye-related problems.
In the competition held at the Onitsha People’s Lawn Tennis Club, Elites Sports Club, Omagba Phase II emerged champions, while Rojenny Sports Club, Oba finished second and Oko Sports Club placed third.
FPCT President, Adinnu, said the free medical outreach was sponsored by the organization as part of its mission to support the less privileged through the charitable work of the founder, Very Rev. Fr. Peter Muojekwu.
Fr. Muojekwu explained that the initiative promotes charity, youth development and support for persons with disabilities through its affiliated organizations in Nigeria and the United States.
The FPCT Chaplain, Very Rev. Fr. Anthony Obele, announced that the tournament would celebrate its 25th anniversary in Nnewi next year.
During the event, Grand Patron of FPCT, Chinedu Oruche, donated two wheelchairs for children living with disabilities, while four charity homes received cash donations of ₦150,000 each alongside food items and other relief materials.
