Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has declared the support of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Soludo made the declaration at the inauguration of the APC Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja, where he described the gathering as a demonstration of unprecedented political consensus in Nigeria.

According to him, about 33 state governors attended the event in support of the President.

The governor said APGA’s decision to support Tinubu was based on shared commitments to national unity, security and prosperity.

“APGA believes in the unity of Nigeria, we believe in the security of Nigeria, we believe in the shared prosperity of Nigeria,” he stated.

Soludo also highlighted APGA’s progressive credentials, noting that the party was registered as a progressive party in 2002, 12 years before the formation of the APC.

He commended Tinubu for undertaking what he described as difficult but necessary economic reforms, pledging APGA’s continued partnership with the Federal Government.

“We are with you, Mr. President. We are a partner in this journey back to Aso Rock, and we will remain your partner in the governance process,” Soludo declared.

He described Tinubu’s anticipated second term as an opportunity to move from economic stability and reforms to shared prosperity through what he called “pragmatic progressivism.”

The event attracted governors from the APC and other political parties, alongside prominent party leaders and members of the Presidential Campaign Council.
