As campaigns for the November 8, 2025 Governorship election in Anambra State intensify, the President of Okpoko Youth in Ogbaru local government area, Anambra State, Comrade Chukwuebuka Ite Igwebuike has organised football tournament to boost re-election campaign for Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo.
Ebuka explained that he considered football tournament as a strategy to campaign for Governor Soludo in the forthcoming gubernatoral election, adding that it is very imperative to remind Okpoko Youth what Soludo has done for Okpoko Community and need to return him.
The youth President made this known to newsmen during the ongoing football tournament holding at Manus Schools, Anumudu, Okpoko.
According to him, this tournament comprises all the youth residing in Okpoko Community and I considered it necessary to gather them through football competition which I know they love very well. Through the competition, i will be having meetings with them to ensure that they don’t make mistake in campaigning for another Party except APGA party.
“Although, the main objective of organising the competition is to ensure that all youth in Okpoko would be united and begins earlier campaign for the re-election of Governor Soludo because Okpoko Community have concluded to work for the victory of Soludo” Ebuka stated.
“Another vital aspect of the tournament is to keep youths busy in the area and channel their attention to sports instead of some of them engaging in social vices due to idleness. Sports especially football for now is the only Central rendezvous for the youths. They understand the language of football more than any other thing. By making them busy, many of them will discover their God given talents” Said Ebuka Ite.
He emphasized that his administration in Okpoko has brought tranquility and positive transformation for the youths in Okpoko, declaring that no youth in Okpoko Community is staying idle as virtually all of them are engaged in meaningful ventures.
