Residents of Ufuma community count their  blessings, extol Prof Ugboaja for his think-home-philosophy stand

MEDICAL PERSONNEL DURING THE FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH IN A GROUP PHOTOGRAPH WITH PROF UGBOAJA (IN CAP).

Ufuma community in Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State recently counted its blessings when the locals received a mega free medical attention at the instance of their son and the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, Anambra State, Prof Joseph Ugboaja.

The entourage comprising the entire NAUTH management staff inspected with the community leaders a newly acquired site in Ufuma where the NAUTH annex is to be established.

The free medical outreach attended to over 400 Ufuma people at various points of their medical needs.

The President of Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), NAUTH, Nnewi, Dr Agbanu Chimezie  disclosed this to journalists who covered the events. 

Dr Chimezie said that they came to celebrate and honour an illustrious  son of Ufuma,  Prof Ugboaja for what he described as his selfless services to humanity.

He recalled that the CMD was crowned the Physician of the year by Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Nnewi zone in 2023 because of his laudable achievements in office as the man in charge who he noted had pragmatically transformed the NAUTH in a short space of two years.

Dr Agbanu said that the over 400 beneficiaries attended at the medical outreach comprised the aged, middle aged and children with health challenges like hypertension, cough, blood  sugar and other ailments. 

He said critical ones that could not be handled at the outreach were referred to NAUTH for proper care.

“We also counsel them because it’s part of the treatment and also refer them to NAUTH, if they need the attention of specialists, “he said.

Dr Agbanu also disclosed that the medical team advised the beneficiaries to create good health culture and always remember to go for medical checks to know their health status at any given time. 

He appreciated Prof Ugboaja for making the outreach possible.
