Nwosu Family, friends mourn compassionate leader, philanthropist

The life of the late Nze Dr. Okenwa Richard Nwosu, MD (Ezeudemba IgboUkwu), founder of the Run For Life Campaign (RFLC), was celebrated and mourned by family, friends and the community as he was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Akama village, Ngo, Igboukwu, Aguata LGA of Anambra State.

The funeral service, which began with a church ceremony officiated by a host of priests and clergies, honoured the 78-year-old’s legacy. Dr. Nwosu, who passed away after a lifetime of service, was not only known for founding RFLC, a grassroots initiative promoting physical health and fitness, but also for his dedication as a community leader, medical authority, and devoted Christian. His commitment to bettering the lives of others through his work and character made him a revered figure, both locally and beyond.

A man of integrity and generosity, Nze Dr. Nwosu was celebrated for his selfless contributions to his community and his passion for improving public health.

He was remembered as a philanthropist and a compassionate leader who always stood firm in his beliefs, never backing down in the face of adversity.

The funeral ceremony drew a large crowd of business and social associates, including notable figures such as the Iduu III of Igboukwu, HRH Alexander Ejikemeuwa Azike, HRH Igwe Otiji of Enugu State, Sir Dr. Mck Ubah, and the PG of Igboukwu, among others. Their presence underscored the widespread impact of Nze Dr. Nwosu’s life and work.

In their tributes, Mr. Ofodile Nwosu, Dr. Adora Otiji, MD, and Engr. Ibeka Nwosu described their father as an incredible and charismatic leader, a mentor with unwavering strength of character. They expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support from family, friends, and in-laws, acknowledging the tremendous loss they all shared.

The president general of the Igboukwu Development Union, Sir Dr. Mck Ubah, Mr. Chukwuka Umeh, and Chuma Umeh praised Nze Ezeudemba for his immense contributions to the development of Akama, Ngo, and the wider Igboukwu community, as well as his national influence.

Mr. Nwora Emenike, CEO of Agina Marketing Solutions, also paid tribute, calling Dr. Nwosu an icon, a hardworking and honest man whose legacy of devotion to God and humanity would continue to inspire generations to come.

As the community bid farewell to a great mentor, Nze Dr. Okenwa Nwosu’s memory will live on in the hearts of all those he touched.
