New NAUTH BoT Chairman, Dalori pays walking visit, commends CMD, Prof Ugboaja for massive transformation of perm site

The 3-day visit kick-started with worship songs and prayers which was conducted by the Chaplain of Redemption of Glory, NAUTH Chaplaincy, Ven Dr Emma Obidiegwu with the theme: Moving with Jesus.

 Dalori on the visit said he was impressed with what he described as massive transformation of the NAUTH’s permanent site under the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Prof Joseph Ugboaja in a 3-year interval.

Hon Dalori and his entourage were shown 2,000 bed capacity facility comprising 120 beds at the Trauma Center and Surgical Emergency Unit; 120 beds at the Medical Emergency unit incorporating the ICU and Renal Center; 200 beds at the Surgery Ward Complex incorporating 5 theater suites; 

Others are 200 beds at the Medical Ward incorporating private wards;120 beds at the Mother and Child Center with 4 theater suites, Modern Delivery Suites; 50 beds SCBU and 4 private delivery rooms; 200-seater capacity ICT Center, muti billion Naira Regional Radio-Diagnostic Center, among other key facilities.

He commended Prof Ugboaja who he described as a hardworking CMD with administrative competence, adding that Ugboaja had the ability to achieve the dreams of the hospital.

He expressed his preparedness to contribute his own quota to the development of NAUTH and lobby for more projects to further develop it.

Prof Ugboaja in his address said his motive was to build a medical megacity to reduce medical tourism abroad.

He lauded the Coordinating Minister for Health and Social welfare, Prof Muhammadu Ali Pate for what he has been doing under the visionary leadership of Mr President.

He said  that President Bola Tinubu had made healthcare a priority, adding that Mr President had started  to deploy more resources to healthcare services as he believed that a healthy nation is a  wealthy nation.

He noted that NAUTH is lucky to have a man like Hon Dalori to be their Chairman, saying that the hospital would rely on his goodwill, administrative experience over the years and on his political reach to attract more funding and projects to the hospital.

Earlier, Hon.Dalori and his entourage in the company of Prof.Ugboaja paid a courtesy visit  to the traditional ruler of Oraifite, Igwe Daniel Udoji, the Obi of Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, having earlier visited his Nnewi counterpart, Igwe Kenneth Orizu III, Igwe Nnewi.

Igwe Udoji warmly received them and prayed for the actualization of NAUTH’s vision which he said is to rank among the best hospitals in Nigeria. 

He prayed for God’s blessings and protection for the administrators, doctors, nurses and others who had worked tirelessly to propel the institution to a limelight.
