The Member Representing Awka North/South Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the House of Representatives, Prof. Lilian Orogbu, has empowered constituents with vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, freezers, generators and scholarship grants.

The beneficiaries were drawn from various communities across the constituency.

Speaking during the empowerment programme at Finotel Hotels, Orogbu said the initiative was designed to appreciate constituents and party members who contributed to her electoral victory in the 2023 elections.

She described empowerment as an important aspect of effective representation and disclosed that a second phase of the programme would take place in November.

Orogbu appealed to those who were not beneficiaries to remain patient, assuring them of her commitment to doing more if re-elected.

She also urged constituents to support her return to the National Assembly, stressing the importance of having an experienced ranking legislator represent the constituency.

In his goodwill message, the Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Party (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, commended Orogbu for prioritising the welfare of her constituents.

The Senator representing Anambra Central, Sen. Victor Umeh, described Orogbu as a model of effective representation and urged constituents to support her re-election.

The NDC State Chairman, Hon. Ikem Uzoezie, also praised the lawmaker’s achievements and called for continued support for her and other party candidates.

The event attracted traditional rulers, support groups, elders and other stakeholders from the constituency.
