Former lawmaker, Hon. Theo Nnorom, has emerged as the National President of the Nigerian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME).
Nnorom was elected after polling 87 votes during the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Raw Materials Research and Development Council in Abuja.
Other positions contested included Deputy National President (North and South), Zonal Vice Presidents for the six geopolitical zones, and other national offices.
Speaking after his victory, the former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly thanked the outgoing National Council led by Dr. Abdulrasheed Yerima for its service and pledged to reposition the association to better meet the needs of its members.
He said his administration would focus on strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders in Nigeria’s SME ecosystem, promoting ease of doing business, and creating more market opportunities for members through strategic local and international collaborations.
Nnorom also commended the Federal Government’s efforts to support the country’s MSME sector but called for greater collaboration among stakeholders to ensure entrepreneurs operate in a more conducive and business-friendly environment.
The NASME General Assembly was attended by state chairmen and delegates from the 36 states of the federation.
