Pope Leo XIV has called on Christians and Muslims to work together to revive humanity through compassion, empathy and solidarity.

Speaking during an interfaith colloquium in Rome involving Jordan’s Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies and the Vatican’s Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue, the Pope said both religions share deep teachings on compassion and care for the poor.

He praised Jordan for its support for refugees and warned that constant exposure to suffering through technology and social media could make people indifferent to the pain of others.

The Pope urged believers to draw from their religious traditions to support the suffering and promote unity, understanding and human dignity.
