Azigbo Ancient Kingdom in Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State witnessed a colourful display of culture and royalty as its traditional ruler, Igwe Ezechukwuchiba I, celebrated his first Ofala Festival.
The event, held at the royal palace, drew dignitaries including traditional rulers, politicians, and community indigenes from within and outside Nigeria.
A major highlight was the conferment of chieftaincy titles on notable individuals such as Chief P. I. Uchendu, Chief Sir Elochukwu Agbayi, Hon. Kingsley Iruba, and Chief Emmanuel Ikenna Okoye.
In his address, the monarch thanked God for peace in the community and pledged commitment to youth empowerment, job creation, and educational support.
He emphasized unity as key to development and commended Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, for ongoing development efforts.
The President-General of Azigbo, Chief Emeka Okechukwu, described the Igwe as a blessing to the community, expressing confidence in his leadership.
The festival featured cabinet inaugurations, title decorations, and traditional homage, marking a significant milestone in the kingdom’s history.
