The frontline House of Representatives candidate for Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna, was today present in Nnewi North Local Government Area as members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) participated in a training session organized in collaboration with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The training was focused on educating party members on the ongoing Membership Registration and Revalidation Exercise, as well as providing detailed enlightenment on the provisions and implications of the new Electoral Act.

The event, which was coordinated by the leadership of the party in Nnewi North LGA led by Chijoke Ofodile, attracted a large turnout of party faithful and new entrants into the ADC. Present at the event was the Chairman, Membership mobilization, Registration and Revalidation, Rt. Hon Barr Ben chuks Nwosu, ADC Nnewi North Local Government Chairman, Chijoke Ofodile, Stakeholders, Ward Chairmen and Executives, LGA Executives. Over one thousand party members and supporters were present to participate in the training and registration process.

During the event, Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna, who attended as one of the key stakeholders of the party, commended the leadership of the ADC for demonstrating commitment to strengthening internal democracy through a transparent and well-organized membership registration process.

He noted that ensuring that citizens are properly registered within the party structure is essential for effective participation in the party’s internal democratic processes and for building a strong political movement capable of delivering credible leadership.

Amb. Ikebunwa also used the opportunity to encourage residents and indigenes of Nnewi North, Nnewi South, and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency to take advantage of the ongoing registration exercise by joining the party and becoming active participants in shaping the political future of the constituency and the country at large.

According to him, strong party structures built from the grassroots are critical to electoral success and to the realization of the “New Nigeria” vision which the ADC has consistently promised Nigerians.

It will be recalled that Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna, who previously served as Special Assistant on Grassroots Mobilization to the late Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has continued to make significant personal investments toward strengthening the party’s grassroots structure across the constituency.

As part of these efforts, he recently personally funded the renting of party offices in ten wards across Nnewi North Local Government Area, ensuring that the party has functional operational bases for mobilization and political engagement at the grassroots level.

In addition to securing these offices, Amb. Ikebunwa also fully furnished the facilities, providing the necessary infrastructure to enable party leaders and members to coordinate activities effectively.

Just last week, he officially commissioned the ADC Ward Office in Nnewichi Ward 1, where he further demonstrated his commitment to grassroots mobilization by donating ₦1 million to the ward leadership. The funds were specifically provided to support strategic grassroots engagement, political sensitization, and efforts to encourage more people to join the ADC through the ongoing membership registration and revalidation exercise.

Amb. Ikebunwa has long been recognized as a grassroots-oriented political leader. His consistent engagement with local communities and party members has earned him widespread popularity at the grassroots level.

He strongly believes that the grassroots remain the true foundation of leadership and political participation, and that building a strong connection with the people at the local level is essential for meaningful governance and sustainable political success.
