The Rotary Club of Onitsha Metropolis has reaffirmed its commitment to making a lasting impact through humanitarian service and strong community partnerships.
Speaking during the club’s inaugural fellowship for the 2026/2027 Rotary year at 1890 Residence, Park Road, GRA, Onitsha, Club President, Rtn. Dr. Ezuma Smart Chinedu, described Rotary as a family united by friendship, shared values, and a passion for service.
He urged members to strengthen genuine relationships, noting that lasting friendships are the foundation of effective service and sustainable community impact.
During an interactive session themed “Friendship in Rotary Service,” members agreed that values such as humility, honesty, respect, teamwork, trust, and empathy are essential for building a vibrant Rotary club, while pride, gossip, jealousy, and selfishness weaken unity.
The fellowship concluded with members renewing their commitment to the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self,” and pledging to promote friendship, unity, and meaningful service throughout the new Rotary year.
