Nnewi community rallies support for Ikukuoma to be next Gov of Anambra

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the November 8 governorship election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has received the nod from the people of Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area to be the next Governor of the State.

In a rally at Anaedo Hall premises on Sunday, a large crowd of party supporters and even non APC members threw their weight behind Prince Ukachukwu fondly called Ikukuoma.

They likened his doggedness and people-centric approach in politics to that of late Dr Ifeanyi Ubah and promised to give him equal support to win the governorship election.

The large crowd that had expressed their desire for a better Nnewi promised to support Ikukuoma to continue from where late Senator Ubah stopped in his bid to unveil a New Anambra, which he believed would be possible with the APC.

While addressing the crowd, Ikukuoma promised to give Nnewi special attention, noting that Nnewi remained the industrial hub of Anambra and the entire South East.

He made a firm promise that he would not disappoint late Sen. Ubah, whom he supported while he was alive.

He reaffirmed that he would transform Nnewi to a new model city with adequate security, uninterrupted supply of electricity, good roads and enabling environment for investments.

He expressed gratitude to the crowd for a warm reception. He assured them that with him as Governor, that they would together build a better Anambra.

The APC Chairman in Anambra, Chief Basil Ejidike while addressing reporters at the event said what just happened in Nnewi was quite expected.

He said that the level of mobilization was an indication that APC has come to stay in Anambra State.

He assured that change had come to the people of Anambra State, saying that he knew Ukachukwu has the capacity and capability to bring the desired change to the State.
