Media attacks on Ajero-led administration pedestal, unwarranted – NLC

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Anambra State Council has expressed dismay over what it described as unwarranted and pedestrian languages used in some quarters by a section of the social media against its leadership at the national level.

The labour body said this in its communique issued after its joint SEC meeting of organised labour (Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress).

The communique was signed by Chairman NLC, Comrade Humphrey Nwafor (KSJI), Secretary, Comrade Gaius Chukwuka, Chairman TUC, Comrade Chris Ogbonna and Secretary, Barr. Comr. Alex Ebi.

The Congress also frowned at the heating up of the polity by section of the media from the meeting of the organized labour to the Government of Anambra State led by Prof Chukwuma Soludo.

It admonished that issues that would heat up the polity should be reported with caution as true and professional members of Fourth Estate of the Realm (media).

The communique reads in part: “SEC-in-session passed a vote of confidence on the National Leadership of NLC and TUC ably led by Comrade Joe-Ajero Esq., and Engr. Festus Osifo pledged its unalloyed loyalty to the leadership.

“SEC-in-session condemned the unwarranted, and pedestrian languages used in some quarters and a section of the social media against the leadership of the NLC at the National level.

“The sec-in-session acknowledges the diplomatic stand of the negotiating teams during the negotiating ‘process’, and urges that the terms of the resolution are kept accordingly.”
