There are jubilations across Anambra state, as the state government announced the inauguration of a multi billion Solution Fun City built in the heart of the Awka capital city by the Governor Chukwuma Soludo led administration.
The official grand opening of the Fun City will take place on Saturday, June 28; according to the state’s Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr. Don Onyenji, in a press conference on Wednesday, June 25.
According to Onyenji, the Fun City will open up opportunities for entertainment and creative industry to thrive in the state, as it will be private sector driven, and free from government interference.
Speaking on the composition of the Fun City, the Commissioner said it has places for relaxation, including games, cinema, waterpark with six different swimming pools, among other things.
“It will provide entertainment, leisure and tourism,” he added. “You may recall that the place was commissioned by President Bola Tinubu. We are inviting the world as we open it officially for public use from June 28. The event will be attended by Mr Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo.”
Onyenji also said that notable Nigerian artistes like Chinedu Okoli (Flavour) and other notable entertainers like Umuobiligbo, Ojadili, Onye Obodo, among other musicians and comedians would be in Awka, Anambra state capital, on Friday, June 28, 2025 for the official opening of the entertainment hub.
Earlier, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Solution FunCity Limited, Mr. Mohamed Farrag, assured that the Solution Fun City would offer entertainment at very cheap rate compared to other amusement parks in Nigeria.
Farrag, who added that the Fun City has already recruited 85 staff for a smooth takeoff, added that it will offer different events, promotions, and activities from 10am to 10pm, Monday through Sunday, with main purpose of attracting enormous patronage.
