Barely one week after a 27 year old man killed his father, 57, for alleged money ritual in a community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, another man from the state has killed his son.
It was gathered that one Marcel Udeh from Umunneochi Local Government Area of the state shot and killed his son for eating the last portion of food in the house.
It was gathered that trouble started when the deceased returned home and ate the last portion of food in a pot inside the kitchen.
This was said to have angered the father who on coming home from where he went, dashed into his room, brought out a gun and fired at his son, killing him on the spot, one account gave.
Another account had it that the suspect used a sharp object on his son, leading to his death.
Udeh, who is said to have been pleading for mercy, blamed his actions on the devil, saying that he regretted what he did.
The suspect was said to have been promptly apprehended by members of the community who tied his hands and placed him on the lifeless body of his son.
The command’s PPRO, Maureen Chinaka in confirming the incident, said the case has been transferred to the state CID for discreet investigation after which the suspect will appear in court.
