Days of kidnappers, other criminals now numbered in FCT, as IGP brings on board SIS

Kidnappings and other violent crimes in the Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja have moved the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun to put everything in motion to launch a Special Intervention Squad (SIS) to keep the rampaging bandits in check.

The IGP said the special operations, when launched, would be deployed to all Area Councils in the nation’s capital city.

DAILY POST reports that the gunmen have, in the last few weeks, attacked and kidnapped several residents of the territory.

President Bola Tinubu and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike had assured residents of their commitment to ensuring that the security situation is brought under control.
