Chicason, NAUTH CMD, TC Chairman, others join Msgr. Ejizu to mark 50th year priestly ordination

It was a celebration time for the Ejizu’s family, the entire members of St James parish, Nnewi, friends and well wishers as they celebrate with Msgr. Prof. Christopher Ejizu who marked his 50th year anniversary in the Lord’s vineyard on May 11, 2024.


The event which started with a holy mass at St James Catholic Church, Otolo Nnewi was followed by a warm reception at his country home.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion were the Nnewi North Local Government Transition Committee Chairman, Hon Engr. Chris Obiorah; the Director, Chicason Group of Companies, Chief Linus Ilozue; former Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, Prof. Anthony Igwegbe, among others.


Msgr. Ejizu who hails from Otolo Nnewi, Nnewi North LGA was ordained a Catholic priest in 1974.
Though a servant of God, he still contributes his quota to community development.
He has been a dedicated servant of God who has continued to bless him.


He was once a Chancellor and Secretary of Onitsha Archdiocese, once a Rector of Ukpor Seminary and also a lecturer at All Hallows Seminary, Onitsha. The Msgr was also once a Parish Priest of St Patrick, Ichi and many other positions before his retirement.


Speaking with Journalists during the reception, Msgr. Ejizu described the golden jubilee of his priestly ordination as an amazing one and expressed gratitude to God for the journey so far, noting that it was not easy.

When asked about his experience as a Catholic priest, he said: “Life is all about ups and downs. It has not been easy in any phase of life but all things being equal, the grace of God has been upon me, in all, there are no regrets in serving God, I’m happy.”

Msgr. Ejizu appreciated the Catholic Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Rev. Jonas Okoye; his family members, relatives, friends and well wishers who graced the occasion.


In an interview with some of the family members and friends, Sir Vincent Ejizu (Onweluchukwu); Mr Jude Ejizu and others described Msgr. Ejizu as an exemplary and worthy priest and prayed for more grace of God onto him and more celebrations. They prayed God to bless him with long life and good health.
