Men’s Fellowship of Intercessory of God Church, Awka, Anambra State, with Major Prophet Augustine Onyekachi Obi as Spiritual Superintendent, celebrated their 2025 annual convention on Sunday.
Delivering the convention message predicated on its theme: “Standout”, the Guest Speaker, Pastor Goodness Emmanuel, referencing Mtt 13:24 — 25 (sowing of wheat and weeds), 1Kgs 3:16 — 20 (2 harlots claiming one child), charged men, Christians to always be spiritually alert, awake in order to overcome the schemes of the devil and its existential threats cum devious manipulations.
“To standout is to be different, to be relevant and original amidst counterfeits, spiritual attacks and manipulations. Hear me, there’re more spirit beings than human beings moving about. God sent us to dominate and possess our possessions even as we prevail by countering enemies of evil forces and principalities.
“Thus, it takes a spiritual man to rise and standout, stand in the gap. But some men slept off while the enemies tampered with their original beings as were in the cases of the sower of good seeds (wheat) and the swapping of sleeping harlot’s baby).
” I charge you, don’t let anybody suppress you as to when matters begin to matter you stay dumb. Mbanu!standout and speak out, for you’re justified or condemned by the words of your mouth even as the Scripture says the power of life and death is in the tongue. So, use your mouth to pray, confess and profess your profession/possessions. Don’t sleep on duty…
“When you pray and nothing shifts then, try to offer some special sacrifices. Apply spiritual litigation to invoke God’s missiles to fight your battles. Don’t be found in bar joints and hotels talking loud only to stay dumb while the enemies attack you and yours. Be serious with the Church and things that shore up your faith in Christ Jesus… marakwa n’arusi bukwa serious cult. Hence, I challenge you to be spiritually sensitive to operate in the realm of divine grace where you dream, see vision and hear voice of God.
“More importantly, close your spiritual gates; especially, sexual gate, if you must standout. Not closing sexual gate spiritually had ruined (and still ruining) many men. Reuben’s destiny was ruined by having sex with his father’s wife even as Judah had to surrender his ring and sceptre to have sex… but Joseph denied Pharaoh’s wife sex to preserve his destiny.
“Mark my words, for failing to close such spiritual gates, you, inadvertently open up for enemies’ arrows to penetrate and hit you with all manners of afflictions. Note also, that promises, obligations and commitments you failed to keep open your destiny for the enemies to attack. Some people have their lives, health and finances exchanged through these ways and manner…
“To this end therefore, noble men of this great commission, I encourage you to stand your ground in being different. Resolutely refuse the enemies to toy with your destinies.I very much appreciate your General Overseer, Prophet, Pst Augustine Obi, for taking care of your spiritual needs and for inviting me to minister to you on this aususpicious occasion of your 2025 convention. Now, come to the altar for closing of spiritual gates prayers”, Pst Goodness Emmanuel concluded his insightful message, “he said.
Other highlights of the loaded program of the convention anchored by host Pst Okey Nnebe, include men’s welcome songs, praise worship, drama, news and health talks.
Others were Bible quiz, merit awards presentation to ten outstanding members from Aguleri, Asaba and Awka branches of the Church, cutting of convention cake, special prayers for the Men Fellowship led by Hon Dominic Okagbue (Oyibo Aguleri) and elaborate entertainment.
