Non-indigenes in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State have endorsed Hon. Afam Uzoegwu for the State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Spokesperson of the group, Nze Nweke Nweke, said the decision followed consultations among non-indigenous town unions, market leaders, and community groups across the council.

According to him, the groups assessed aspirants from different parties and agreed to support Uzoegwu, an All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) aspirant, citing his track record, political experience, and relationship with non-indigenes.

Nweke added that Uzoegwu’s contributions to revenue generation in Idemili North and his grassroots support make him a strong contender capable of winning the general election.

He noted that this marks the first time non-indigenes in the area are collectively backing a candidate for the state assembly, expressing confidence in Uzoegwu’s chances.
