US President Donald Trump has deleted an AI-generated image he shared on Truth Social portraying himself in a messianic role, following criticism from Christian supporters and allies.

The image depicted Trump in a white robe appearing to heal a patient, alongside strong religious and patriotic symbols.
Defending the post, Trump said it was meant to show him “as a doctor making people better,” and declined to apologise.

The controversy comes after Trump criticised Pope Leo XIV over his condemnation of US and Israeli military actions in Iran. The Pope, currently on an African tour, said he has “no fear” and will continue speaking out.

Prominent Christian figures, including Sean Feucht and David Brody, described the image as inappropriate, with some supporters saying it crossed a religious line.

The post adds to previous controversies linked to Trump’s Truth Social account.
