Frontline House of Representatives hopeful for Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna, today joined party leaders and stakeholders at the Hollywood Event Center, Awka, for the official flag-off of the membership mobilization, registration and revalidation exercise of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The significant political gathering was hosted by the Anambra State Chairman of the party, Barr. Ben Chuks Nwosu, with presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, who also attended as the Special Guest of Honour.
The event attracted several prominent political figures and party stakeholders from across the state. Among those in attendance were distinguished senators including Victor Umeh and Tony Nwoye, members of the House of Representatives such as Prof. Oby Orogbu, as well as other federal lawmakers, members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, and numerous aspirants contesting under the ADC platform.
A major highlight of the event was the address delivered by Peter Obi, whose presence drew significant enthusiasm from party members and supporters. Speaking to the gathering, Obi reaffirmed his intention to contest for the presidency in the 2027 general elections. He encouraged Nigerians, particularly young people and first-time participants in politics, to take advantage of the ongoing registration exercise by joining the ADC. According to him, the party is committed to providing credible leadership and a new direction for the country, assuring supporters that ADC will emerge victorious in the 2027 elections and usher in a “New Nigeria” capable of alleviating the economic hardship currently facing many citizens.
Speaking shortly after the event, Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna described the ADC as the political party to beat ahead of the 2027 general elections. He called on Ndi Anambra and Nigerians at large to come out in large numbers to register and support the party in its mission to reposition the country.
Focusing on his constituency, the Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Lotanna assured party supporters that strong grassroots structures are already being put in place to guarantee electoral success for the ADC.
As part of his ongoing commitment to strengthening the party’s grassroots presence, Amb. Ikebunwa recently sponsored and fully furnished ten ward offices in Nnewi North Local Government Area. The initiative forms part of his broader strategy to ensure that the party’s structures are firmly established and operational ahead of the upcoming elections.
Following the official flag-off ceremony, party leaders and stakeholders dispersed to their respective wards to complete their individual digital registrations. While Peter Obi proceeded to Agulu for his registration, Amb. Ikebunwa Lotanna carried out his own digital membership registration at Nnewichi Ward 1, reaffirming his commitment to the growth and consolidation of the party at the grassroots level.
