The counsel to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and human rights activist, Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has advised Ndi Igbo to ensure that peace is restored in the South East.
He urged the killers and enablers of violence in Igbo land to reflect on their actions and work towards peace in the region.
In a statement made available to our reporter in Awka, Anambra State on Monday, Sir Ejiofor emphasized that it is a well-known fact that Ndi Igbo are marginalized in the Nigerian political system.
He, however, said that true struggles for the liberation of the oppressed must reject violence, fraud, criminality, and abuse as strategies.
According to him, those still clinging to the baseless December declaration should be assured that December would come and go uneventfully.
“I have always maintained that lies, deceit, fraud, treachery, and criminality have an expiry date. When the truth reaches its breaking point, it is inevitable.
“The game is over to those still clinging to the baseless December declaration, rest assured, December will come and go uneventfully,” he said.
He recalled that in the past, when fantastical claims about fighter jets and warships were peddled as tools for self-aggrandizement by a serial fraudster, he warned those willing to listen that they were being swindled.
“My stance earned me severe criticism, threats, and defamation. But today, where do we stand?” he asked.
Sir Ejiofor urged those who professed to have been deceived by the unrepentant serial fraudster to pause, reflect, and retreat.
“Let us restore peace in our land. So, the custodians of Igbo heritage can seek ways to appease the gods for the atrocities committed against our people.”he said.
“Freedom can never be won through such means. There’s absolutely no wisdom in cutting off one’s nose to spite one’s face. Onye nwere nti, ya nuru. Udo!!!” he added.
