Gov Soludo commissions Igwe Orizu ultramodern ICT centre at NAUTH perm site

The Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, Anambra State on December 27, 2023 achieved another milestone in infrastructural transformation of the permanent site as Governor Charles Soludo commissioned Igwe Orizu ICT centre.

The event which was to celebrate the Igwe of Nnewi, HRH Igwe Kenneth Orizu 111’s 60th year on the throne and 98th birthday was well attended by members of the Igwe’s cabinet; the Obis; first female Governor in Nigeria, Dame Virgy Etiaba; Transition Committee Chairman, Nnewi North Local Government Area, Engr Chris Obiorah; member representing Nnewi North Constituency, Hon. Augustine Ikedoji; Rev. Father Engr.Chetanna Chukwueke; Chief Dan. Ulasi; management and staff of the NAUTH including the Chief of Staff to the CMD, Mr Jackson Njoku, the Head of NAUTH Corporate Affairs, Mrs Chinyere Onwuka and other distinguished personalities.

In his address, Governor Soludo represented by Engr Obiorah appreciated the efforts of Igwe Nnewi and his palace members to bring the ICT center to a completion and the efforts of the Chief Medical Director of the NAUTH, Prof Joseph Ugboaja to make the health institution one of the best in West Africa.

He prayed that God would continue to bless the Monarch and Prof Ugboaja, respectively for the laudable achievement.

Prof Ugboaja in his address said that the Monarch has made a remarkable contribution towards developing the NAUTH permanent site.

Prof Ugboaja disclosed that the Monarch had told him that if he eventually became the CMD that he should move to the permanent site so that he (the Igwe) would witness it during his lifetime.

Prof Ugboaja noted that Igwe Orizu had been instrumental in appealing to people to raise funds required for the ICT project which he said had been completed to the glory of God.

He disclosed that the Igwe had made a formal visit to the permanent site not less than five times since he took over the mantle as the NAUTH CMD.

“It wasn’t easy at all to move to the permanent site because of bad roads and other infrastructural challenge. But we overcame them all through the Monarch’s prayers, “Prof Ugboaja added.

To appreciate the Monarch, Prof Ugboaja named a one -kilometer road at the permanent site “Igwe Orizu Road”.

He congratulated the Igwe on behalf of the management and staff of the NAUTH as the Monarch celebrated his 60th year on the throne and 98th birthday. He prayed that the Igwe would continue to be strong and sound in health.

Former female Governor, Dame Etiaba appreciated the Igwe and his cabinet members.

She also commended the CMD in his efforts to reposition the NAUTH with rapid development of the permanent site to make the health institution one of the best of its kind across Nigeria and beyond.
