The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie, has set the stage for celebration of the Christmas in the polytechnic.
In a spectacular and unprecedented manner, the Rector assembled the santa and formally unveiled the splendid Christmas decoration in the company of principal officers and members of the governing council of the polytechnic.
This initiative will culminate into the nine lessons and carols of the polytechnic slated for 19th December, 2025.
The Rector further revealed that a sealed box exclusively meant to collect monetary gits for the needy and less privileged has been provided at the christmas manger stand, and encouraged staff members to commit to putting money into the box, no matter how small.
She stated that after Christmas, all the money in the box will be collated and taken to the less priviledged in the spirit of christmas.
This underlines the humanitarian nature of Dr. Awuzie, who has always shown great care for the less privileged in the society.
The short ceremony was welcomed with joy and celebration by staff members, who witnessed it.
