This gathering offers us a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and prepare for the year ahead.

“The Christmas season reminds us of the enduring values of love, peace, sacrifice, and goodwill to all. These values align perfectly with our chosen theme for today’s event, “Policing: A Shared Responsibility.” Security cannot be achieved by the Police alone; it requires the collective efforts of government, security agencies, community leaders, traditional rulers, religious bodies, youth groups, the media, and every law-abiding citizen.

“I wish to sincerely appreciate the Government and good people of Anambra State, our sister security agencies, Anambra State Police management team, my Area Commanders, my Divisional Police Officers, tactical teams.
“Others are operatives of other sister agencies as well as those in joint security task force, and most importantly the operatives of Agunachemba. It is through unity that we are able forge a fortress throughout the year 2025 against the common enemy of the State.
“Despite the challenges we faced, the Command remained resolute in its mandate to protect lives and property. Through intelligence-led policing, joint operations, community engagement, and proactive patrols, we have continued to improve our security architecture.
“These achievements would not have been possible without timely information and the trust reposed in us by Ndi Anambra.
“As we celebrate the festive season, I want to reassure residents and visitors that the Anambra State Police Command, in collaboration with sister security agencies, has intensified patrols and surveillance across the state. Strategic locations, worship centres, markets, highways, and recreational areas are being adequately covered to ensure a peaceful celebration.
“However, I must emphasize that security is everyone’s responsibility. I therefore call on all residents to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and supportive of security efforts. Report suspicious movements or activities promptly to the nearest police station or through the designated emergency lines. Together, we can sustain the peace we desire, “the CP submitted.
He said that as the arrival of the year 2026 is awaited, that there is need to renew collective commitment to unity, cooperation, and peaceful coexistence.
