Breaking: Osumenyi community elects new PG, 15 years after, as Nnewi South Mayor congratulates winner, Chief Emeka Akuezue

The Executive Chairman of Nnewi South Local Government Area, Hon. Van George Chinedu Ezeogidi (Ijele Utuh), has warmly congratulated Chief Emeka Akuezue on his emergence as the President-General-elect of Osumenyi Community, Nnewi South LGA.

Behold the brand new PG of Osumenyi community, Chief Chukwuemeka Akuezue and the youth President, Mr Okechukwu Ikediego.

Ezeogidi described Akuezue’s victory as the beginning of a new era of peace and stability in Osumenyi, especially as the election comes 15 years after the last leadership transition. 

He prayed for God’s guidance upon the new President-General and expressed optimism that his tenure would usher in unprecedented growth and development for the community.

The council boss also commended the people of Osumenyi for their peaceful and orderly conduct before, during, and after the election, noting that their exemplary behavior is worthy of emulation across Anambra State.

He further extended his appreciation to the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for his unwavering support in restoring peace and stability in Osumenyi, and to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Tony Collins Nwabunwanne, for his remarkable expertise in handling community matters across the state.

Meanwhile, Dr. Charles Ebulue, a prominent youth leader in Osumenyi, has hailed the successful election, describing it as a “new dawn” for the community. He noted that the town has been filled with excitement following the emergence of a President-General after over 20 years of unsuccessful attempts at conducting a united election.

Ebulue expressed gratitude to stakeholders and men of goodwill who contributed to the historic outcome. He gave special recognition to Governor Soludo for his steadfast support, as well as to Hon. Van George Ezeogidi for his invaluable logistical and physical support throughout the process.

“With this breakthrough, Osumenyi community truly welcomes a new dawn,” Dr. Ebulue concluded.
