The Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Nnamdi Azubuko, has described the party’s just-concluded local government wards congress as peaceful, transparent and widely applauded by stakeholders.
Hon. Azubuko made the disclosure on Thursday shortly after returning to Nnewi from Awka, where he submitted the results of the congress to the state headquarters of the party.
According to him, the exercise was conducted through a consensus arrangement aimed at fostering unity and strengthening internal democracy within the party structure.
“What we conducted was a consensus congress. The executive members were harmonised in the interest of unity. Those who have served for over eight years willingly stepped aside to allow for the emergence of a new executive,” he said.
He noted that the transition process was carried out without rancour, explaining that party leaders and stakeholders of Nnewi extraction across various levels were fully informed and satisfied with the outcome.
“All APC stakeholders from Nnewi were aware of the process. They commended the peaceful manner in which the congress was conducted,” Azubuko added.
The APC scribe further declared that the party in Nnewi North is repositioned and “combat-ready” to mobilise support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“With our membership strength of about 4,000, APC in Nnewi North is fully prepared to join other party structures across the state to deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second tenure in 2027,” he promised.
Azubuko acknowledged that Anambra State remains a stronghold of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), but expressed confidence that the APC would make significant inroads in the state during the next election cycle.
“Despite the dominance of APGA in Anambra, we are optimistic of victory for President Tinubu in 2027,” he affirmed.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to unity, grassroots mobilisation and strategic engagement as it works to consolidate its presence in the state.
