An Nnewi-based lawyer in Anambra State, Mr Jude Oguejiofor has been reportedly kidnapped and later killed by his abductors.
Mr Oguejiofor is an indigene of Orsumoghu in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra. The victim was said to have contested for the Ihiala Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat in the 2023 general elections under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The lawyer was kidnapped by the gunmen around 1: 00a.m a couple of days ago along with his brother when he travelled home to see his aged parents, according to the report.
The kidnappers, however, the report said, released his brother, a medical doctor while they killed the lawyer.
Mr Oguejiofor’s father, the source said, fainted and died on Thursday when the gunmen contacted the family and informed them that they had killed the lawyer.
When contacted, the Anambra State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga (DSP) said there is no information like that before him.
