The traditional ruler of Ifitedunu in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State, Igwe Dr Emeka Ilouno Eze Dunu 11 on December 29, 2023 celebrated his 18th year on the throne and 5th Ofala festival.
The event which took place at Ifitedunu Mini Stadium, Central School, Ifitedunu attracted distinguished personalities within and outside the State.
One of the recipients of a traditional title at the event was the Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, Professor Joseph Ugboaja who was honoured with the title “Nwannedinamba” (a brother in the diaspora).
In his address, Igwe Ilouno described Prof Ugboaja as a man who had done so well in bringing quality healthcare delivery system to his people.
He said that the CMD was always handy whenever his attention is needed at the NAUTH annex in his community.
Responding, Prof Ugboaja appreciated the Igwe and his cabinet members for bestowing him the “Nwannedinamba” title.
He promised to be there for the people of Ifitedunu and to bring the annex to a completion.
Prof Ugboaja also disclosed that as he had joined Ifitedunu’s cabinet that he was going to use his office to bring smiles on the faces of the people of Ifitedunu. He promised them other infrastructural development for a smooth healthcare delivery in the area.
The Director General Budget and Planning, Abuja, Pastor Ben Akabueze described NAUTH CMD as a man who had shown brotherly love and a friend indeed to the people of Ifitedunu.
He disclosed that the Igwe of Ifitedunu and the CMD were colleagues as Igwe Ilouno is also a medical doctor.
The NAUTH Head of Corporate Affairs, Mrs Chinyere Onwuka on behalf of the management and staff described the title as recognition of CMD’s immense contributions to the development of NAUTH and his excellent role played in bringing quality healthcare services to the people of Ifitedunu.
She said that the CMD’s impactful and exceptional services towards human development and welfare initiative at the hospital and Health sector in general had attracted to him well-deserved titles from various communities across Anambra.
Mrs Onwuka also appreciated the people of Ifitedunu for their right decision in bestowing this title to the CMD.
In her vote of thanks, Mrs Ngozi Ofiaeli appreciated the people of Ifitedunu and the CMD for all his untiring efforts to ensure quality healthcare delivery in various communities of Anambra State with the idea of encouraging annex system of the NAUTH.
She appreciated the Igwe of Ifitedunu for honouring the CMD and also appreciated Pastor Akubueze for his contributions so far to see that NAUTH annex was a reality in the area.
