Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has re-echoed the core value behind the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
In a statement from the Press Secretary to Soludo, Mr Christian Aburime he said the Governor’s act of embracing everyone took center stage when he convoked a meeting of the former appointees who served in the immediate past regime, held at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre, Awka.
He said the meeting was aimed at amicably resolving the issues concerning the political appointees who felt neglected and abandoned.
Mr Christian said the Governor who reminded them that he also served as an appointee under the former regime, said his decision to convene the meeting was due to his empathetic disposition towards everyone, including the poor, down-trodden and the forgotten.
“The Governor explained that his government, especially APGA administration has continued to demonstrate and churn out policies that will create positive outcomes for the less privileged in Anambra communities.
“He reeled out some of his administration’s efforts in less than two years life span and promised to look into their concerns and find a lasting solution to them.
“Governor Soludo urged those who still believe in the APGA message, to remain patient as his administration was committed to addressing the challenges facing Ndị Anambra, using the five pillars, as much as finances would allow.
“Earlier, the Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim explained that being a former political appointee under the former regime, he was a part of the reunion meeting where he realized the importance of informing the Governor about the gathering.
“A Former member of the National Assembly, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe noted that Governor Soludo was performing beyond expectations, less than two years into his administration and canvassed support for him by all and sundry, “he explained.
He said the meeting ended on a positive note as both parties exchanged pleasantries and shook hands in a show of goodwill.
Mr Christian said some of the former political appointees including Chiefs Ben Obi and Onyeka Mbaso who reacted to the outcome of the meeting expressed optimism that their grievances would be addressed by the Governor and his team.
He said they commended the Governor for his approach in addressing their concerns and promised to continue to support the government in its bid to transform the State.
Christian named Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi State Chairman of APGA, Barr.
