In view of the current insecurity and excruciating economic hardship in Nigeria, the Charismatic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), Anambra State chapter has called for synergy among relevant stakeholders in the State.

The conference said this would accelerate the pace for sustenance, consolidation and continuation of variable transformation that the State has been known for.

The State overseer of the clergy group, Archbishop Dr Mike Chukwudum who spoke on preparation of the CBCN Synod 2024 told journalists that the current situation of insecurity and economic hardship in Nigeria demanded for all hands to be on deck.

He said this would make for collaboration of ideas, knowledge and vision among relevant stakeholders including the traditional rulers, town unions, traders, businessmen and the clergy and put heads together to find ways to assist the government in the areas of security and economic development.

“The current situation is endangering and we must rise up to the occasion to join hands together to deal with it.

“Government and security agencies cannot do it all alone. They need our help and we have to provide them with help spiritually in terms of prayers, advice and practical vision and services in the areas of infrastructure to provide food, pay school fees, construct roads, sink borehole and provide equipment for security agents, among other things to ameliorate the situation, “he added.

Flanked by other officials of the group including Archbishop Titus Orji, Bishop Chris Madu, Bishop Solomon Uba, Bishop Chidi Innocent, Bishop Samuel Azodo, Bishop Dr Norman Okeorimili and Akosa Umunna, the State Overseer who is also the Presiding Bishop of Rock of Fire Global Ministries said that the Synod with the theme, “Grace For Variable Transformation” would be held at International Convention Centre (ICC), Agu Awka on Thursday September 26, 2024.

Corroborating the State Overseer, the Director of Intergovernmental Agency and Liaison, Bishop Azodo said that all was set for the Synod, adding that the State Governor Professor Charles Soludo, Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe, Obi of Nnewi Igwe Kenneth Orizu, Founder Grace of God Mission, Bishop Paul Nwachukwu, Founder, Life of Faith Gosoek Assembly Bishop EC Obiora, and President Ohaneze Ndigbo Anambra State Prince Emeka Udodeme, among top dignitaries from the State functionaries and the private sector

On the forthcoming Local Government election in the State, Bishop Azodo assured that the clergymen would mandate members of their respective Churches to go out and participate in the voting exercise to elect their Local Government chairmen and ward councillors.

He commended Governor Soludo for heeding to the call from the people of the State to conduct Local Government election in the State.

He added: “We called for this forthcoming Local Government election and the Governor answered our call, so certainly we are going to participate in the election.

“Our concern is for the election to be peaceful, free and fair and we are trusting, the electoral commission and security agents that they will live up to expectations because they are equal to the task, “he concludes.
