The people of Nnobi community and their neighbours in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State are celebrating what the residents call remarkable achievements of Chief Hamilton Ezeonu, who has pledged to use his resources to boost infrastructure development in Nnobi.

Ezeonu, who has Ikemba Nnobi as his traditional title for his generosity and philanthropy, made this commitment during the commissioning of a 1-kilometer road and three boreholes he constructed to leverage infrastructure in the rural community, an event that was attended by Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State.

Chief Ezeonu expressed the need for wealthy individuals to invest in community development and capacity building.

The philanthropist vowed to mobilize over 50 influential Nnobi individuals to adopt the Dubia-Taiwan philosophy of the state government in line with think-home-philosophy. He also reiterated that his charitable efforts were never politically motivated, as he was not a politician.

Ezeonu’s past contributions to his community include provision of safety gear for 500 cyclists; renovating Nnobi General Hospital; construction of a modern security office and tower at the hospital and police station; roofing the Ifete Ogbaadji village hall; support for indigent students through his scholarship scheme; distribution of over 2,000 bags of rice to community members, among other things.

His wife, Dr Mrs Thelma Ezeonu, also disclosed that she had empowered women, especially widows, through commercial grinding machines, medical outreach, and other support arrangements.

Some of the beneficiaries , Mr Tony Okeke and Ijeoma Udo had testified to the trans-formative impact of Chief Ezeonu’s kindness, praying for God’s abundant reward.
