Heavy rain in Nnewi North Local Government Area, Anambra state on Thursday generated heavy flood that reportedly swept away four persons including mother and child in the industrial community.
Sources said the incident happened at different locations in the town. Nijasun.com gathered that two persons were allegedly swept away in Nnewichi, one along Nnobi road and another along Nnewi-Onitsha road.
The mother and child were said to be returning from church service that evening when the incident occurred.
When contacted, the President-General of Nzuko-Ora (Nnewi Town Union), Dr Maduka Atuenyi said he heard the rumour of the incident, adding that it was everywhere but he was yet to confirm it.
