Barely twenty-four Hours after being sworn-in, as the Transition Chairman of Orumba North Council Area, Barrister Casmir Nwafor embarked on an unscheduled visit to Eke Oko market and abattoir.
In his address Barrister Nwafor warned the traders and butchers, that they stand the risk of getting the market closed, if there is no effective environmental sanitation in the market. He ordered that within one week,the whole market should wear a new look,in line with the zero tolerance policy on environmental degradation.
He frowned at the indiscriminate parking of vehicles and motorcycles in the first gate of Oko Polytechnic and total filling station along Ekwulobia- Oko-Umunze Road.
The Transition Chairman appealed to the management and staff of various transport companies and the leadership of motorcycle operators to help in the ongoing efforts to make the state a liveable and prosperous homeland.
He reiterated his determination to domesticate the good governance policy of the present regime in the state, in orumba North council area, through effective administration.
He announced that he is poised to change the face of Orumba North council area. He commended Governor Soludo for the numerous projects being executed in the area, adding
that the security of lives and property of his people will continue to receive priority attention, including markets and residential quarters.
He said every community will be involved in his administration through community participation programme.
According to him, inter-schools and inter-Towns sports competition will be reintroduced
in the area, including the revival of cultural festivals and carnivals to entertain the people during festival seasons.
Highlight of the first day in office tour of the transition Chairman was a courtesy call on the traditional Ruler of Ajalli Eze Augustine Nwangwu.
