Masoud Pezeshkian has questioned whether the ongoing conflict with the United States aligns with Washington’s “America First” policy.
In an open letter addressed to Americans and shared on X, Pezeshkian asked whose interests the war truly serves, urging citizens to reflect on its cost and purpose.
He insisted Iran has never pursued aggression and described its recent military actions as “legitimate self-defense,” while stressing that Iranians hold no hostility toward the American people.
The Iranian leader also warned that continued confrontation could have serious global consequences.
Responding in a national address, Donald Trump described Iran’s leadership as dangerous and maintained that the war is necessary to prevent nuclear threats, adding that the conflict is nearing its end.
