The St. Paul’s Parish, Ebenesi, Nnobi, witnessed a momentous occasion as the ultra-modern church building was dedicated in a grand ceremony.
The event, which started with a church service, featured a colorful commissioning and procession of clergy, knights, and ladies of the church.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, the Anglican Bishop of the Diocese on the Niger, and his wife, Pharm. Dr. Elsie Nonyelum Nwokolo, led the dedication service.
In his sermon, Bishop Nwokolo praised the collective efforts of the parishioners and encouraged them to continue showing love and faith in their dealings with the church and God.
The Vicar of St. Paul’s Parish, Rev. Canon Augustine Ikechukwu, expressed his joy and gratitude to God for the successful completion of the church building, which took six years to finish. He shared a remarkable testimony of a Roman Catholic donor who contributed significantly to the building project.
The dedication of the church, which has a seating capacity of 30,000, marks a significant milestone for the parishioners and the entire Nnobi Anglican communion. The event was attended by friends, well-wishers, and prominent clergy, who praised Rev. Canon Ikechukwu for his dedication to God’s vineyard.
Notable parishioners, including Mr. Chuba Ume, Mr. Chukwudi Aguocha, Mr. David Ifemeludike, Mr. Emeka Ume, and Emeka Okonkwo, delivered heartfelt speeches, praising Rev. Canon Augustine Ikechukwu for his tireless efforts in nurturing the spiritual growth of the parish.
They commended his dedication to God’s work and encouraged their fellow parishioners to deepen their prayer lives now that the church has been dedicated.
They also urged the congregation to take ownership of maintaining the parish, ensuring it continues to be a beacon of God’s glory in the community.
Mr. Benjamin Ikebeotu, Chairman of the Dedication Committee, extended a warm welcome to all in attendance, remarking that the occasion marked a pivotal moment in the parish’s history.
He hailed the dedication of the ultra-modern church building as a long-held dream realized for the community. Mr Ikebeotu expressed his deepest gratitude to the Bishop, the Vicar, and the entire parish for their unwavering commitment to bringing this vision to fruition.
