As the governorship election in Anambra state billed to take place in 2025 comes closer, political observers in the state have identified Governor Charles Soludo’s problem as self inflicted.
One of such observers is the spiritual head, Soul Revival Outreach, Nnewi, Anambra state, Prophet Ikechukwu Uzukwu whose prophesies in political and economic spheres always come through.
Prophet Uzukwu said what Governor Soludo was doing now in the area of taxation could attract God’s anger unless he puts himself in reverse. He accused the Governor of imposing heavy taxation on the citizens.
He said that the Governor was becoming the architect of his own problem.
“I have been warning him since 2022 but he failed to listen. I once asked him to emulate the Osun state Governor, Adeleke who came into office and made life easy for the masses of Osun state. He reduced taxes and market levies within the state.
“Soludo came into office and did not allow Anambra people a breathing space in taxation. He raised taxes and market levies without minding the excruciating economic hardship in the nation, just to have a huge internally generated revenue.
“Levies that used to be N13,000 in Nnewi is now N30,000. For the past three years life has remained unbearable for the greater percentage of Anambrarians.
“No one has repository of wisdom or knowledge. The Governor’s media team doesn’t hesitate to attack anybody who criticizes the Governor even when the criticism is constructive.
“When Mr Peter Obi and Dr Chris Ngige were Governors of Anambra, they hardly attacked their critics but they concentrated on their programmes to better the lots of the people. Not every criticism requires an answer.
“The Governor should carry others along to be a good politician and good leader. It’s difficult to understand why the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) lost the rerun elections to YPP for the National Assembly election in Anambra state. That shows that the Governor is not a party man.
“He should be a good party man and settle whatever differences that is there or he can test his popularity in another political party. Senator Ifeanyi Ubah did it and now becomes a political guru in the state.
“I think it’s high time Governor Soludo discovered his political deficiencies, if he must survive the political tsunami facing him, “the Prophet concluded.
