Anambra APC LG congress holds tomorrow, as screening committee brainstorms with stakeholders

A joint meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) set up by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) led by Hon. Solomon Golley has held a closed-door meeting with all the relevant arms and groups in the party in Awka.

Congress and Screening These include the Local Harmonization Committee set up by the Anambra state chapter and the party Stakeholders on Wednesday 18th of February, 2026 to deliberate on the ongoing APC Ward, Council and State congresses in the state.

Addressing the meeting, the Anambra State chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike welcomed and assured them that the members of the party are committed to a peaceful conduct of the congresses.

He thanked Gov Hope Uzodimma of Imo state for defraying the almost three hundred million naira it cost to procure the forms.

Senator Emma Anosike, a member of the state’s Harmonization Committee who also stood in for Senator Uche Ekwunife, the chair person of the committee who was absent assured the visiting team of a seamless exercise. He said that the meeting was preceded by a major stakeholders meeting held the previous day at the same party secretariat to calm frayed nerves and ensure that the APC family in the state was not divided.

Senator Anosike also said that the previous day’s meeting has set the stage for a rancour free congress.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Hon. Paul Obi who is one of the five members of the Anambra state House of Assembly that recently joined the party also assured the committee members of their support and cooperation.

The chairman of the Congress Committee Hon. Solomon Golley commended the peaceful atmosphere in the state which he noted was worth praising in view of the happening in other states, which to him was more than can be said about other states.

Senator Margery Chuba-Okadigbo in her vote of thanks commended the committee for their kind words.

In attendance amongst others were Princess Esom Nwafor Orizu, Engr. Nelson Onubuogu, Chief Azuka Okwuosa and other members of the Harmonization Committee, Hon. Paul Obi of the Anambra state House of Assembly and others.
