Anambra state former political appointees, 2014-2022 set led by Hon. Onyeka Owelle Mbaso have unanimously endorsed Senator Ifeanyi Ubah for Anambra State Governor come 2025.
In what appeared to be the gathering of those that made 21 over 21 election of 2017 posible and the 2021 election success for Governor Charles Soludo, the former appointees pledged unflinching support and readiness to ensure that Senator Ubah emerged next Governor of Anambra State.
The event which took place at Nnewi residence of Senator Ubah further strengthened the All Progressives Congress (APC) as more members accepted to join the party to support Ubah.
The flagship political structure of Senator Ubah under the aegis of Ikemba Front through its National Coordinator, Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu, commended the former political appointees for their decision to support the governorship aspiration of the Senator, saying that Anambra was ripe to have Ubah as its Governor.
He said that Ubah would not treat the former political appointees like other Governors who made promises to them but reneged.
He noted that Senator Ubah was not the one they worked for in 2021 who made promises to them and as such was not in any way indebted to them.
He said that Ubah had chosen to put smiles on their faces as one who shared in their pain.
Sir Awogu while thanking Hon Mbaso for his leadership of the former political appointees, urged them to return to their various wards to become the face of Senator Ubah in their various political wards and begin to mobilize massive support for APC in their area.
Hon Mbaso had explained to Senator Ubah the reason for their decision, adding that Ubah had consistently demonstrated his commitment towards the common man on the street.
He said that the Senator had uplifted many communities and advanced the interest of Anambra state in many ways.
He affirmed that the former political appointees were confident that Ubah was the right person to lead the state by 2025 to greater heights.
In his response, Ubah flanked by many dignitaries and members of his advisory committee, had expressed his gratitude to the former appointees for their support and pledged his readiness to continue serving the people with all sincerity and openness.
He said he was committed to working to fulfil the aspirations and expectations of the people of Anambra state.
In a communique signed by the former political appointees and addressed to Senator Ubah, they declared what they described as their total endorsement for Ubah for the governorship bid.
They said the declaration had brought to an end speculations as to what would be the final stand of the former political appointees who they said were made to empty their vaults to deliver their polling units in 2021 only to be allegedly sacked unceremoniously with half month salary.
